Burning permits are essential before you have a bonfire.
You can only have open fires in the campo during certain periods of the year, and certain times of the day. If you are seen burning things without a permit, there are serious fines. This is because of the risks with burning things in the campo and the ease with which they can become uncontrollable wildfires.
