Registering on the padrón

The padrón is the local registry for the general public that the town hall requires to know who lives in the area.

The process of joining the padrón is known as ‘empadronamiento’. You will get a certificate to prove you’re registered, which is needed for a lot of other legal procedures. These expire after a few months, but you can just get a duplicate with a new date on.Social benefits
